Artist Bio
As a creative practitioner Doris Pik Yee Wong is interested in making artworks about the issue of human psychology such as the “dark triad” of personality and fear. Interested in surrealism, Wong aims to present to her audience the human thought in an irrational and ironic way. Utilizing the mediums of painting and sculpture, she aims to depict human psychology through a combination of symbolism, surrealism, and collage.
Wong is a professional art educator, with nine years’ experience in the field. Born in Hong Kong, she joined ‘Think Life’ Art Exhibition in 2007. She majored in Visual Art in A-level being awarded runner-up in senior category on behalf of Hong Kong Architecture Centre in 2009. She is a graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She started to design visual merchandising and clothing in 2010. As a tutor Wong teaches visual art in order 50 Hong Kong studios and schools; her students’ ranging from the ages of 3 to 15 years. Currently she is studying for a Fine Art degree with Birmingham City University.
